I was really surprised to find myself enjoying this film. Although it is in the same vein as Twilight, (star-crossed fantasy lovers blah blah blah ) its funny dialogue, likable character and good acting made it work. Its not perfect and everything seemed a little too convenient. But I loved the setting, the back story and the visual aid that the South provided. I was especially impressed by Emma Thompson who I have never really seen in a role such as this before. I will definitely read the books, hoping the fill in some the spots that irritated/intrigued me during the film. 10 years 9 months ago -

Didn't read the books, didn't expect much, still not as bad as I would expect. Wouldn't recommend it, but didn't regret finishing it either. 6/10 10 years 11 months ago
