@Kasparius
You call Eldar Ryazanov "piece of crap"? If you don't understand something it really does not necessarily make it crap.

Not better than "Andrei Rublev" (which is one of the two or three greatest films, in my opinion), but still not a terrible film.

Nuked - I'm not sure what your comment is supposed to mean, but the style of criticism offered by Ebert and the style of criticism offered by Godard are pretty much polar opposites. For the record, reading, and sometimes agreeing with critics (especially after you've watched enough movies and read enough criticism to know your own taste, and to know which critics are "on your wavelength") is hardly a sign that one isn't forming their own opinion or taste.

@MrCarmady
Well, usually I don't have a problem with people disliking something as I can respect that tastes are different. But when someone calls the Russian Billy Wilder a "piece of crap with no redeeming values" I can hardly keep silent. Indeed why watch this "crap" in the first place, let alone bother to post such comments here?

Don't pay attention to him, he's a twat with shit taste in films. Don't know why he watches so many, he seems to hate them.

@MrCarmady: Maybe if you watched more movies you would have more discerning taste.

Nuked, how is my opinion on this film informed by anybody? I haven't read a single review of it. And how is it that me not liking this film, means I know nothing about technique? Maybe you should read more film critics to learn how to word an argument

Billy Wilder just rotated in his grave a 1000 times. Please Leave Billy Wilder another "twat with shit for taste" out of this.

In 1966, Andrei Tarkovsky's Andrei Rublev, one of the absolute greatest films of all times, was released. The universe decided that Russia needed to produce a piece of crap with no redeeming values to balance things out, "Watch out for the automobile" is that very film.
