After finally watching this "movie" I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. Actually it's a TV series of 5 episodes in total, but I saw the movie version of all 5 episodes edited together.
It was all right, I'm no Halo fanatic but from what I can tell, it felt genuine and solid. The overall feel is intriguing and you can easily keep the interest up for 5x20 minutes. In fact, I would easily watch another season/movie if it held the same standard.
Great special effects complement the action well when things get hairy. The intro is a bit corny and betrays some weaker actors, but it's passable enough. There isn't much story or development of anything, think of it more like a condensed glimpse into the backstory of the main character you play in the games, Master Chief.
Recommended regardless of your experience with the Halo games, especially for scifi fans. 10 years 3 months ago -

You'll probably love it if you're a hardcore Halo fan, I know I sure did. The acting is not top notch and the story is a microscopic glimpse of the Halo world and storyline but it's still fun to watch, seeing the Chief in live action is always a treat. I positively adore the fact that Kelly-082 is shown in the movie. She's my all-time favorite Spartan and just seeing her included makes it five stars for me. Can't tell you how much I loved her in the Halo novels. 7 years 4 months ago -
