I was expecting to like this a bit more after enjoying <i>Monsieur Hire, </i>however The Hairdresser's Husband did not strike me. It's dreamy and sexy in some scenes, but the overarching story seemed almost trite and too focused on wish fulfilment(?). The mesmerizing frenchness is intriguing, there was just too much of "and then the pretty lady fell in love with me because I kept asking." 2 months 3 weeks ago -
