"Amos Vogel's Film as a Subversive Art"

You have to understand the historical context to truly appreciate the significance of this work. The church and big business interests were working together behind the scenes to ban home videos of cute kittens in over 37 countries. Alexander Hammid was in and out of jail 3 different times on obscenity charges for screening this video.

It wasn't until the Kitten's Rights movement in the 1980s that theaters were finally able to show this important documentary.

greenhorg: best comment I've read yet anywhere on this site, although your prejudice is showing given that you don't mention anywhere the great puppy-kitten war of 1979.

No one can tell me cats don't have feelings like humans. My cat performed the miracle of birth before my eyes just like in this film. It's a wonderfully humbling experience to witness it. So beautiful.
