Odd camera shots (the backs of people blocking the view of other actors in the conversation, tops of heads lopped off, actors walking off camera while talking, etc...) and bad editing affect the overall quality of this film. The plot is good, given its time period, and the acting is top notch. Clearly a stepping stone on Hitchcock's learning curve toward his brilliance. 10 years 7 months ago -

It's clealy a minor early Hitchcock.
Indeed, at this time, Hitchcock gives the impression that he is too shakespeary. I watch the movies and they make me want to tell him: "Hey, Albert, move on, you're due to do much more than this".
Anyway, The Skin Game is about real estate, so it deals with some really contemporary issues. 12 years ago
