Alex Beene is an author, journalist and educator from Tennessee. A constant traveler and advocate for global human rights, he’s been to over 20 countries and has a degree in TESL from the University of California, Los Angeles. He’s also a 2014 graduate of the WestStar program, the most prominent leadership organization in the Volunteer state. His work has been featured in various publications throughout the Southeastern United States, where he received his B.A. and M.A. in Journalism from the University of Mississippi. He is currently working on a children’s book, titled “Lessons from a Southern Mother,” scheduled to be released this fall.
