The film was too long and didn't need water scenes nor those baddies in particular and the Pentagon side plot was unnecessary apart from the continuity 'colonizer' punchline.
There was much exposition, slo-mo action... And the action was used at the expense of a more enjoyable story.
Set, costumers and hair are great but the acting and dubbing isn't and is wooden and it's not action and yes the drama is not focused on the tradedy.. Hadn't seen anything that is way based on fact (the dramas)
A couple of good lines by Cage's characters lin two places. It's a well trodden plot, albeit decent characters and dialog with a few nice screens. Good 6/10
Good, profound. I enjoyed the writer directora prior work. I did feel I was confused by the plot and the way it was told though. Decent but not too clear
Can't agree it's above average. It's average. Sparse beats, little dialogue except for jokes. Nice setting but nothing new apart from the Balinese traditions, I've been there and still felt they missing an opportunity, Ubud and the monkeys and the processions, street food etc.
The crescendo oestrogen music ending was pap. The chemistry flip any the side romance was tacked on, and I predicted alcohol would be the driver 5/10
Channeling Leo's voice, looks, style and ability Taron was brilliant. . Great film, wondered if it would drag half way, the KGB have some surveillance! Fascinating to see Maxwell, great acting and sets
Great film. From the restaurant scene to the commentary about the Rolex guy, I felt this was the same guy from The Square (I was at the premiere and Q&A with the director).
