Will the number of checked movies that do not appear on any list be separated from the number of movies that do appear on lists? That would be great, so we can compare with other people how many "good/popular" and "not so popular" movies we have seen.
Another suggestion I have would be a feature to make it possible to see how many of the movies that are included on all the lists have been checked, eg "712/5000".
I am with monty. I really don't see the added value of this feature. There are numerous other website that provide the same service. The value of this website used to be that you could keep track of top lists. Lists that people deem interesting and noteworthy, because of the inherent quality the movies on those lists offer.
This website would lose its appeal if anyone could check every movie ever made.

I don't get what problem some people have with adding all movies. You can still use only the top lists that you consider worthy, compare them with other user and ignore the rest.
If showing off your e-penis (aka the that number next to your user name) is all that counts for you and you see that treatened by people who watch a lot of crap then you will not be missed.
Being able to check all movies will be great once custom lists are there. We can create lists of filmographies for directors or actors etc. I can't wait for that.
As my understanding goes, we have the choice to add a new list or not under the personal lists section, so I don't understand why some people are against the idea. If you just want the top lists that are here already, you can just ignore what other movies/lists people are adding and just stick with the original top lists.
If we choose not to do anything, than the lists we see won't change. But if we want, we can choose to add new lists that other users have created. Is that right?
I'm not too enthausiastic about this idea unless there are some more restrictions.
Like the IMDB rating of the movie must be at least 5.5 and the runtime at least 60 minuts. I don't want this site to be flooded with crap movies. Maybe these movies shouldn't have much value too once added. Like no +1 to your total watched movies.
I usually find your new features great, but I have to agree with 3rd, monty and Megalo by saying this idea removes the interest of your website, for the same reasons they mentioned previously.
I don´t need the ability either. If I want to see all my seen movies, I´ll look at IMDb. Hope this idea will end up in two sites: one with the ability and one without.
Yeah, I've got to chime into the "going to ruin the point" chorus, here. Imported movies really can't count toward one's score. It would destroy the competitive nature (or at least what I see as a competitive nature) of the site.
