I think it would be cool if there were a section for lists that were up on the site in the 1.0 version before 2.0 went live... because I anticipate there be many, many more official lists to come.

Thanks, piet! I sent a message about a week ago. That's good news.

Someone asked: "I donated just now, but I didn't leave my name so is there any way for you guys to know it was me? Like do I need to email a receipt or something?"

And I'd love to know the answer to that question too.

Will you let us know how much we've donated? I'm curious how much it is, since you seem so happy with it.

Will we be able to import lists from IMDb? (I mean the normal lists that you can find on imdb.com/lists, not the MyMovies lists)

@JohnnyDavidson: just to be clear, there will be making a clear distinction between "official", adopted lists that we consider to be interesting to everyone, and personal lists. However, should someone decide to create a list that we feel should become an "official" list (e.g. http://www.chicagoreader.com/chicago/list-o-mania/Content?oid=896619), we can decide to have a list become official. People will still see who made the list, but it will be included with the other official lists. Personal lists like "my favorite movies to watch with my girlfriend" are very unlikely to be converted to an official list.

@jeff_v: that is something that we really want to do in a future release
@sortile9io: yes, that will be possible. We will have a very relaxed upgrading and downgrading scheme.
@mjf314: only the person who created the list can add tags (to prevent abuse). You will be able to see the most favorite (bookmarked) lists for each tag, yes.

The one thing that would make this site worth paying for would be tighter integration with IMDb (ala Criticker) that would allow searching by Director or Actor and seeing what movies in their filmography are associated with lists. The personal/group lists features don't add much, IMO.

The check-limit was abominal, the group-limit might have been reasonable.

@ jeff-v: the way I see it, I'm paying for the fun this website has given me in the past 2 (?) years. The premium account is just a little extra.

Yet another question: will it be possible to upgrade from basic to pro before it expires?

I just donated $50.

A couple more questions: Will anyone be able to tag lists, or only the person who created the list? Will we be able to see the most-bookmarked lists for each tag?

I agree with Everran. I like the 'official' lists, and they should remain far separated from the user created lists. I think this is imperative for gaining new members. When people see incomplete or messy lists, I think that is a huge turnoff. So far this site has done well to seem 'professional' / 'official'.

@Everran Don't worry, we have a great system of separating good from bad ;)
