This page shows you the list charts. By default, the movies are ordered by how many times they have been marked as a favorite. However, you can also sort by other information, such as the total number of times it has been marked as a dislike.

  1. Erik's Recommended GLBT Films's icon

    Erik's Recommended GLBT Films

Favs/dislikes: 33:2. This is a list of my top favorite movies, series, and documentaries with gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender content. Some of the earlier films may not have overt content, but I feel they are significant in queer film history nonetheless. I used to manage my local GLBT bookstore before it closed, and now work at an independent video rental store. I have more complete lists posted in my Letterboxd account (http://letterboxd.com/erikswallow/).
  2. Top 100 Homosexual Themed Movies's icon

    Top 100 Homosexual Themed Movies

Favs/dislikes: 28:2. I compiled this list from diverse lists from critics and polls, collecting information about the best gay themed movies for a broader audience. I weighted it to create a certain ranking. The total of films that were named is 394. Movies, which target only a homosexual audience were excluded (for example: Eating Out). I have not seen all of the movies, but I tried to focus on the "serious" movies. Enjoy!
  3. The BFI 30 Best LGBT Films of All Time's icon

The BFI 30 Best LGBT Films of All Time

Favs/dislikes: 3:0. To mark the 30th anniversary of BFI Flare: London LGBT Film Festival, BFI is delighted to announce the Top 30 LGBT Films of All Time in the first major critical survey of LGBT films. Over 100 film experts including critics, writers and programmers such as Joanna Hogg, Mark Cousins, Peter Strickland, Richard Dyer, Nick James and Laura Mulvey, as well as past and present BFI Flare programmers, have voted the Top 30 LGBT Films of All Time. The poll’s results represent 84 years of cinema and 12 countries, from countries including Thailand, Japan, Sweden and Spain, as well as films that showed at BFI Flare such as Orlando (1992), Beautiful Thing (1996), Weekend (2011) and Blue Is the Warmest Colour (2013).
