The World History of Animation: Time Line

The book starts with an introduction and brief histories of world animation, with a list of key films for each continent. The rest of the book is a chronological time line of films, with information about each film as well as biographies and explanations of animation techniques. This is the chronological time line. Natural Horror & Related Movies
Favs/dislikes: 16:0. Natural horror is a sub-genre of horror films featuring nature running amok in the form of mutated beasts, carnivorous insects, and normally harmless animals or plants turned into cold-blooded killers. Many movies on this list are only loosely related to the genre of Natural Horror. Not only does it include various “animal-movies” in the genres of thriller, drama and comedy, but it is also built around rather loose definitions of exactly what “animals” is, hence the inclusion of various types of monsters, cryptids, plants, dinosaur and other creatures. And as always with these kinds of list: suggestions of movies that should be added or removed are always welcome. -

Beltesassar's Short Animation Festival
Favs/dislikes: 11:0. Back in 2007, a professor in the Netherlands used an Azureus torrent press to share 220 short animated films – 30 GB – with the world. Beltesassar's Short Animation Festival (named after the prof himself) is an incredible collection of short animations from all over the globe dating back to 1911. Filmography of World History

Global in scope and a practical tool for students and teachers of history, Deanne Schultz's "Filmography of World History: A Select, Critical Guide To Feature Films That Engage The Past" includes description and analysis of over 300 historical films. A companion to Grant Tracey's "Filmography of American History," this critical reference book selects movies that represent aspects of world history from the middle ages through the twentieth century. These films adopt as their subject a wide range of historical events, people and societies of Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe and Canada, and Latin America. Over half of the entries provide extended analysis of the historical interpretation the film brings to the screen. "Filmography of World History" argues for the potential of feature films to teach us about the past and its reconstruction in academe and popular culture. The book provides several listings of the films, the one shown here is the cross referenced list by time periods. Clinical Depression
