  10. Best Thriller Movies and Best Drama Films Based(Inspired) On a True Story From Each Country's icon

Best Thriller Movies and Best Drama Films Based(Inspired) On a True Story From Each Country

Favs/dislikes: 4:0. It's my pleasure to present thriller movies with other genres -like Mystery- Thrillers and with sub-genres like -Psychological-Thrillers. Closely related Horror film genre is also on the list which you might find interest. Although drama is drama, i wanted to form an extra list (beginning with the documentary called Ashes and Snow (2005) ) of best films based on drama genre mostly ,expect other genres -in that film- such as romance, from each country. I also wanted to choose -the hope itself consisting one- where i doubted which film to add of that country. When a film belonged to many countries- such as "Babel (2006)"- i have chosen the less knowing one between them- For instance that movie has been considered from Morocco, despite it belonged to Japan and USA as well-. With that taste of choice, i considered movies the less knowing one in cinema where it filmed in another country-such as " The Stoning of Soraya M." is considered as a movie from Persia despite it is filmed in the USA". I have also added some movies which give us a great oppurtunity to see the beauty of related country. Some related movies are Island Etude (2006) from Taiwan, Kauwboy (2012) from the Netherlands. With the hope of this extra list starting with the documentary "Ashes and Snow" will be a guide for you on the drama films which are mainly based or inspired on a true story. I gave the priority of dramas of children or children related ones firstly, and then adults and older people lastly.

Thankfully, this is also just a great list of comedies that any cinephile with a penchant for good comedy should check out. The list comes from Mike Sacks' book Poking A Dead Frog: Conversations With Today’s Top Comedy Writers, which sounds like a great read for anyone with more than a passing interest in the art of comedy. But we know you came here for the movie list, so keep reading for the goods. Read on!

  21. BIllboard 100 greatest Music Video Artists of All Time's icon

BIllboard 100 greatest Music Video Artists of All Time

Favs/dislikes: 4:0. t's been nearly four decades since our best and brightest stars first made the jump from our stereos to our televisions, changing the course of popular music in the process. In the course of that time, music videos have come to define what we love and remember about our favorite artists as much as anything short of the music itself -- creating icons, reinventing careers, sparking imaginations and inspiring untold millions of Halloween costumes worldwide. On the verge of this Sunday's (Aug. 30) MTV Video Music Awards -- the one time a year where we're still guaranteed to celebrate one of media's most influential-but-under-recognized artforms -- Billboard wanted to take a look back at the artists who have given the most to the music video, whether through heavy rotation on MTV, millions of views on YouTube, or other mediums that predate both. Here is our list of the 100 artists who have made the music video eternal, with a YouTube playlist of videos from all the artists available at the end.
  22. Black Film Archive's icon

    Black Film Archive

Favs/dislikes: 4:0. ABOUT THE SITE Black Film Archive celebrates the rich, abundant history of Black cinema. We are an evolving archive dedicated to making historically and culturally significant films made from 1898 to 1989 about Black people accessible through a streaming guide with cultural context. HOW DOES BLACK FILM ARCHIVE DEFINE A BLACK FILM? The films collected on Black Film Archive have something significant to say about the Black experience; speak to Black audiences; and/or have a Black star, writer, producer, or director. This criterion for selection is as broad and inclusive as possible, allowing the site to cover the widest range of what a Black film can be. The films listed here should be considered in conversation with each other, as visions of Black being on film across time. They express what only film can: social, anthropological, and aesthetic looks at the changing face of Black expression (or white attitudes about Black expression, which are inescapable given the whiteness of decision-makers in the film industry). ABOUT THE CURATOR Maya S. Cade is the creator and curator of Black Film Archive and a scholar-in-residence at the Library of Congress. She has been awarded special distinctions by the New York Film Critics Circle and the National Society of Film Critics for the Archive. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, NPR, The Paris Review, Vulture, among other publications. She is the fall 2022 programmer in residence at Indiana University’s Cinema and was the fall 2021 research fellow at Indiana University's Black Film Center & Archive. Originally hailing from New Orleans, Maya is based in Brooklyn. Black Film Archive is a resource Maya has been hoping to discover for as long as she can remember. In June 2020, she decided to start building it herself. Every word on Black Film Archive is thoroughly researched and lovingly written by her. NOTES FROM THE ICHECKER In keeping with the official iCheckMovies list for the Library of Congress, I listed the shorts of Rev. Solomon Sir Jones separately (Films 1-29) versus one title "Rev. S.S. Jones Home Movies" like on BFA. As of January 2023, there are twelve BFA titles missing from my list because I could not track them down on either iCheckMovies or IMDB: Foye Family Home Video #3 Wedding Reception The Killing Floor Gotta Make This Journey: Sweet Honey in the Rock The Black Cop Steel Drums in New York Color Us Black! Off the Pigs Azz Izz Jazz To Live As Free Men Cheryl America, They Loved You Madly; Interview with John Lewis.
