Favs/dislikes: 22:0. This is the list of 100 best films of the '00s (2000-2009) according to the major Norwegian internet film site montages.no. This list was published on their site in seven parts in January and February of 2010. This top 100-list includes 103 films as in the original list The Lord of the Rings-trilogy, and the Kill Bill-films where only given one list spot each. -
Complex's The 100 Best Films of the Complex Decade
Favs/dislikes: 5:0. Complaining about the film world’s lack of originality and daringness would feel shameful if it wasn’t so damn easy to find reasons to grumble. And the last 10 years, which have seen a multitude of trends come and go, A-list movie stars continually fail to open non-franchise movies, and the box office dominance of one Harry Potter, have given us plenty reasons to criticize. For instance, we’d need at least four hands to count the number of lifeless and inept horror remakes that genre fans have been assaulted with, and you know it’s slow creatively in Hollywood when Spider-Man gets completely rebooted (with this summer’s The Amazing Spider-Man) a mere five years after a $337-million-earning sequel (2007’s Spider-Man 3). As you can tell, though, it’s a celebration around the Complex offices these days, after 10 years doin' it, and doin' it well, and when it came time to reflect upon the films that best represent our brand’s decade-long run, one fact became clear: For all of the whining movie purists do these days, those of us who painstakingly seek out quality over instant accessibility have more cause for elation than bitching. Thanks to names like Judd Apatow, David Fincher, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Joel and Ethan Coen, as well as sick genre purveyors from countries such as France and Spain, the last 10 years have collectively been catnip for us reel folks. The 100 Best Movies of the 80s
Favs/dislikes: 12:1. I'm a devoted fan of 80's cinema and during the last five to six years I've seen around 500 - 600 of the most popular or critically acclaimed movies hailing from this decade. Due to this enjoyable movie marathon I've been given the opportunity to re-evaluate these classical movies and measured them against eachother and against modern day standards. The result is highly subjective, but keep in mind that I was/am a man aged 28-33, which to some degree influences what kind of movies I like/liked. Check out the comments section for explanations. -

The Popdose 100: The Best Movies of the 2000s
Favs/dislikes: 8:0. Last year’s Thanksgiving-timed Popdose 100 proved so popular that this season we’ve compiled three critical-consensus lists for your reading (and arguing) pleasure — documenting our choices for the best films, albums and songs of the 21st century’s first decade. In fact, we’ve become so enamored of building these lists that it wouldn’t be surprising, a couple years from now, to find us offering one every day from Thanksgiving to Christmas. (Nah … that might detract from Mellowmas.) What can we say? We just love to quantify what we like, using elaborate point systems. We begin with the decade’s best movies — and, if nothing else, our list is certainly genre-film-friendly: Somewhere in the middle, Let the Right One In, Hellboy, Hot Fuzz and Mulholland Drive sit proudly side by side. Because our crew of participants isn’t all that big (11 of Popdose’s writers contributed), a few personal favorites that one might not expect somehow earned enough votes to make the cut (hello, Dodgeball!); nonetheless, we were all pleasantly surprised to see that our compiled Top 100 offers such a nice balance of prestige films and high-quality popcorn fare. Of course, since this list is being posted before Thanksgiving, 2009’s holiday films (and likely Oscar bait) aren’t represented; over the coming months we’ll no doubt be kicking ourselves that we didn’t yet know the quality of films like Up in the Air, Invictus, The Lovely Bones, Nine … Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel… With that caveat in mind, away we go! -
