This page shows you the list charts. By default, the movies are ordered by how many times they have been marked as a favorite. However, you can also sort by other information, such as the total number of times it has been marked as a dislike.
A list of all the movies I have seen (that I remember...) and TV shows - if a TV show is checked, it means I've watched every season of that particular show.
Thanks for checking my list out!
The American Film Institute’s original 2001 list of the 400 movies nominated for the top 100 Most Heart-Pounding American Movies of All Time. Films released in 1999 and prior were eligible.
It's my pleasure to present thriller movies with other genres -like Mystery- Thrillers and with sub-genres like -Psychological-Thrillers. Closely related Horror film genre is also on the list which you might find interest.
Although drama is drama, i wanted to form an extra list (beginning with the documentary called Ashes and Snow (2005) ) of best films based on drama genre mostly ,expect other genres -in that film- such as romance, from each country. I also wanted to choose -the hope itself consisting one- where i doubted which film to add of that country.
When a film belonged to many countries- such as "Babel (2006)"- i have chosen the less knowing one between them- For instance that movie has been considered from Morocco, despite it belonged to Japan and USA as well-.
With that taste of choice, i considered movies the less knowing one in cinema where it filmed in another country-such as " The Stoning of Soraya M." is considered as a movie from Persia despite it is filmed in the USA".
I have also added some movies which give us a great oppurtunity to see the beauty of related country. Some related movies are Island Etude (2006) from Taiwan, Kauwboy (2012) from the Netherlands.
With the hope of this extra list starting with the documentary "Ashes and Snow" will be a guide for you on the drama films which are mainly based or inspired on a true story. I gave the priority of dramas of children or children related ones firstly, and then adults and older people lastly.
A list mainly of movies whose central focus is drama, though some movies here have elements of suspense or humor as well, such as thrillers, action movies and comedy-dramas. To give prominence to a diverse variety of styles and more room to a greater number of directors, only one movie per series will appear here. The installment selected is the one I hold the highest, representing the series as a whole. So you'll only find one Godfather movie here, for example.
The choice of which I rank highest changes with time. Also, there are many lauded films I've yet to see and new releases mean new entries, so the list will be revised regularly. The list will however consistently reveal my fondness for adventure movies and film noir. It's also telling that non-English speaking movies are excluded, reflecting the important role English-language movies have played in film history. Out of the acclaimed non-English speaking movies I've seen, I'd place many near the top, but to add them and leave out classics I haven't seen would be to make an incomplete list. As it is, this list focuses on the movies in English that struck a chord with me. Feel free to recommend new titles!
All the films featured in the 2009 documentary "Nightmares in Red, White and Blue: The Evolution of the American Horror Film".
This list was compiled directly from the end credits of the film.
In 2004, Bravo presented “The 100 Scariest Movie Moments”, celebrating the best in cinematic horrors and thrills. They expanded their original list with “30 Even Scarier Movie Moments” in 2006 and “13 Scariest Movie Moments” in 2009. All 143 movies are listed here.
The weirdest, the strangest, the oddest cinema from the farthest reaches of the globe. No Ozu, No Godard, No Antonioni, nothing so respectable. Only sleaze, horror, action, fantasy, whatever. The undefinable, the unnacceptable, the unreal.

Perfect crime is a colloquial term used in law and fiction (principally crime fiction) to characterize crimes that are undetected, unattributed to a perpetrator, or else unsolved as a kind of technical achievement on the part of the perpetrator.
In certain contexts, the concept of perfect crime is limited to just undetected crimes; if an event is ever identified as a crime, some investigators say it cannot be called 'perfect'.
A perfect crime should be distinguished from one that has merely not been solved yet or where everyday chance or procedural matters frustrate a conviction. There is an element that the crime is (or appears likely to be) unable to be solved.
Alfred Hitchcock perfected the thriller movie with a string of classics that remain unmatched. But from today’s perspective, there’s more to them than ice blondes and wrong-men scenarios. Every decade gets the thrillers it deserves, from post-World War II film noir and Nixon-era conspiracies to even the tawdry (but loveable) ’80s erotic thrillers. We had a hard time choosing our favourites, but after much interrogation under a naked light bulb, we did it.

The filmography of movies based on the many works from the author Stephen King. All features films, including mini TV series and TV series. No shorts.
There is another list based on Stephen King's works here on iCheckmovies. But that list is so incomplete so it was useless for a collector like me.
The official 501 Must See Movies is compiled from a list of about 50 movies from 10 genres. These lists use the second edition which contains between 50 and 60 movies in each genre and breaks them out into their own lists for easier completion.
