It's a list of the best South Korean films made between 1936 and 1996. If you haven't seen anything from this list, I recommend starting with Hanyo (which is also on the most favorite list).

Having watched vengeance trilogy I was confident I'd have opened my account in this list. But I'm very disappointed that the list didnt have any recent movies. Isnt there any othre list available?
I'm a huge fan of South Korea's cinema of the 2000's (and I'm not alone with that), so I was strongly disappointed to see the list ending just in 1996. :( The only film I even KNOW is "The Housemaid", so, a lot to discover .. when I finally come to explore this list.
There's also a top-37 list on the Mubi page which includes 13 films from 1997-2002. Other than that, I'm not able to find anything more recent.
@Sean: How can you say that recent Korean films are the best, when you haven't seen anything from this list? (admittedly I haven't either, but I'm planning to watch some of them in the near future)
