Korean Film Institute recently loaded 200 classic korean movies up on youtube. Many of the listed films are on their channel

Why is Five Fingers of Death on this list? Even though the director is South-Korean, the movie itself is made in Hong Kong and produced by Shaw Brothers

I still somewhat surprise myself, knowing the types of Hollywood movies that I grew up on, to find any international films on my personal lists. And 'Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance' is one of my all time favorite movies, period.

Problematic or nor, I assume this list was chosen as an "official" one because of the more "contemporary" Korean films on this list, as opposed to the more "archaic" one. Ι honestly expected a bigger country variety but whatever...a cinephile country trend is a cinephile country trend, who am I to complain?

frbrown, agreed. Assume it's because of its historical importance, though Wikipedia says there is hope that the film exists in a private collection somewhere. Either way, it makes this list quite problematic for completists.

Strange that they put a lost film on the list.
