2. Mystery Science Theater 3000 Feature Films's icon

Mystery Science Theater 3000 Feature Films

Favs/dislikes: 58:0. This is a list of the films themselves, rather than a list of the episodes (which can be found here: http://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/mystery+science+theater+3000/annesemj/) This list also includes the shorts/documentaries/TV series that appeared.
3. Chaotic Cinema's icon

Chaotic Cinema

Favs/dislikes: 5:0. I came across an interesting, self-proclaimed "Chaotic Cinema" list on Letterboxd (https://letterboxd.com/afracious/list/chaotic-cinema) of over 2,600 surreal/experimental/cult/horror films and wanted to transport it here. But inputting all those films was an enormous task, and gigantic ICM lists are always so cumbersome to load and use. So, I compromised and only entered the films I haven't seen. Which initially amounted to just about half of them. This makes the list less useful to others, but it's certainly can be of SOME use to other fans of this warped cinematic realm. Entering this list also led to adding a number of films to the ICM database. But unfortunately, there was also a surprising number of films that don't even have IMDb pages: 025 Sunset Red 2016 / 1986 Summer 2018 / A Proven Partner 1993, a.k.a. Ein Bewährter Partner / Artificial Paradise 1986 / Atomic Bombs on the Planet Earth 2012 / Chasse des Touches 1959 / Circumcision of Participant Observation 2013 / Conditions 2014 / Configuration 20 1994 / Dead Dance 2009 / Double 2001, a.k.a. Bunshin / Elations in Negative 1990 / Epiphany 1984 / Forbidden Symmetries 2014 / Ganeden 2003 / Geflecht 1976 / General Motors 1976 / Gewebe 1976 / Good Morning, Mr. Orwell 1984 / Good Night Good Morning 1976 / He Walked Away 2006 / Hollis Well 2012 / Horror Film 1 1971 / Intoxicated By My Illness 2001 / Joseph’s New Coat 1998 / Light Music 1975 / Light of the Body 2004 / Love Reinvented 1979, a.k.a. L'Amour réinventé / Magic Mirror 2013 / Man with Mirror 1976 / Memory Fade 2009 / Moonblack 1968 / Mountaineer Spinning 2004 / Moxon’s Mechanick Exercises 1999 / No Place to Rest 2013 / Old Digs 1992 / On the Road to Kandahar 2003 / Opus 5 1961 / Performance of Video Imaging Tools (year?) / Personal City 1990 / Primary Time 1974 / R-G-B 1974 / Reverberlin 2006 / Scan Processor Studies 1973 / Set of Co-incidence 1974 / Snows 1967 / Spinout 1983 / Story of My Hair 2011, a.k.a. Histoire de mes cheveux / Superbia – Der Stolz 1986 / Surrealistica Uniferno 2012, a.k.a. Surrealistica Uniferno 1 / Taste It Nine Times 1992 / Ten Years In The Sun 2015 / The Cat Lady 1969 / The Extinct Suite 2017 / The Last Lost Shot 1999 / The Matter Propounded, of Its Possibility and Impossibility, Treated in Four Parts 2011 / The Medium Is the Medium 1968 / The Sons of Bitches Turned Out the Lights 2003 / Theme Song 1973 / Tokyo Loop 2006 / Unbalance 2006 / Unstable Materials 1995, a.k.a. Instabile Materie / Up To and Including Her Limits 1976 / Volcano Saga 1989 / Weird Weird Movie Kids Do Not Watch The Movie 2013 / Why Do Things Get in a Muddle? (Come On Petunia) 1984 / Wildfire 2003 / Window Painting 1982 / Worry Will Vanish Horizon 2014 / Zillertal 1991 I'm going to create IMDb pages for as many of these films as my patience allows -- we'll see how I do. I believe I'm up to 101 adds now, and that's not counting some established IMDb films that only needed to be transported to ICM. I'll delete titles from the above block of text as I add them. I continue to remove films that I see. The list initially was 1,108 films but is smaller now. But there's an extra wrinkle: The Letterboxd user continues to expand the list, so I'm adding films as well as subtracting them.
4. 1001 TV Series You Must Watch Before You Die (2015)'s icon

1001 TV Series You Must Watch Before You Die (2015)

Favs/dislikes: 31:2. This is the 1st edition (October 2015) and the latest addition to the bestselling and highly acclaimed 1001-series. "From "Leave it to Beaver" to "Breaking Bad", "The Honeymooners" to "Homeland", this compilation of important and groundbreaking television shows is packed full of trivia and will be sure to make you want to pick up the remote or start streaming. Selected by an international team of experts and covering a worldwide spectrum of programs from the classics of the 1950s to the cutting-edge shows of today, 1001 TV Series is one of the most comprehensive books ever published on the topic of television." This volume is virtually impossible to finish (as you have to watch every single episode of every single entry). Not to mention many of the shows are still running this very day. If the authors instead chose to focus only on TV-series/TV-Mini-series/TV-movies you might have had a chance, but unfortunately, TV shows - including Game shows, Reality and Talk shows - are also included. NOTE: the book contains some TV-movies or stand-alone episodes from TV-series, but the vast majority of the entries are either TV-series, TV-Mini-series or TV shows. The genres are: Action/Adventure: 43 Animation: 13 Awards show: 3 Biography: 1 Comedy: 246 Comedy/Drama: 31 Crime: 1 Crime/Mystery: 101 Documentary: 18 Drama: 226 Fantasy/Horror/Sci-Fi: 107 Game show: 26 Historical drama: 60 Music/Musical: 13 Reality: 31 Soap opera: 28 Sports: 2 Talk Show: 16 Variety: 22 Western: 13 = 1001 TV-series/shows/movies that, according to the introduction by Robb Pearlman, "could not be included" (it is never argued why): The Winds of War (1983) Lonesome Dove (1989) Requiem for a Heavyweight (1962) [???????] Sybil (1976) Gia (1998) Trilogy of Terror (1975) Duel (1971) V (1983) Recount (2008) Game Change (2012) An Early Frost (1984) And the Band Played On (1993) Brian's Song (1971) Mildred Pierce (2011) Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows (2001). Some entries that most likely will cause some problems in terms of checking them are the Awards shows: Academy Awards (#17), Golden Globe Awards (#50), MTV Video Music Awards (#365) as well as "Eurovision Song Contest" (#32). Instead of adding every single annual event for these shows, I decided to add only the earliest entry I could locate on IMDb (as if you care about those shows and/or will finish this list anyway). TV-Series/Shows featured in the book that currently aren't on IMDb: Súper Sábado Sensacional (1968-present) Attenti a noi due (1982-83) Bauer sucht Frau (Bäuerin) (1983) Indietro Tutta! (1987-88) Nummer 28 (1991). NOTE: "1001 TV Series You Must Watch Before You Die" and "1001 TV Shows You Must Watch Before You DIe" have identical entires (1948-2015) - as well as the same page total (960) - although they're two different books. Generally speaking, the only differences between the two books are: - the introduciton is longer in "Shows" (an introduction by Robb Pearlman) whereas "Series" have a much shorter introduction and instead have an additional index (Index by Genre). The "Index by Genre" is not featured in "Shows". - "Shows" is in hardcover whereas "Series" is in paperback. - The front and back cover are different. If you spot any errors (or if any of the abovementioned series/shows I've listed earlier has been added to IMDb), or if you have any questions about the entries or the list as a whole, please don't hesitate to PM me.

The World History of Animation: Key Films

Favs/dislikes: 13:0. This list is from Stephen Cavalier's book The World History of Animation (2011). The book starts with an introduction and brief histories of world animation, with a list of key films for each continent. A comprehensive list of coming-of-age pictures

Favs/dislikes: 7:0. Coming-of-age are defined by stories about growing up that explore themes like: sex, drugs, rock'n'roll, sports, war, divorce, religion, depression, punk, drought, graduation, lazy summers, first loves, death, puberty, domineering parents - these are the hazards and catalysts of change. The main persons are often portrayed by children, teens and young adults. Some of those movies might be dark and disturbing, others might be simple and sweet. Special thanks to Moviemeter member Niethie for helping creating this list.

16. NC-17 movies's icon

NC-17 movies

Favs/dislikes: 26:0. A list of all films rated NC-17 – No One 17 and Under Admitted by the MPAA. The list is based on the Classifiction & Ratings Administration's database, and does not include films that (through appeal or editing) received a different rating before their release, or that surrendered their rating and were released without one (i.e. "unrated"). There are about half a dozen NC-17 films from 1990, 1991, and 1992 (when NC-17 had just been introduced) that—as far as I can tell—aren't on IMDb, and thus missing from this list. Judging from the titles (Centerspread, Peepshow, Play Thing, Games Of Love, Modern Love, Myriam, and Easyriders Video Magazine #13) most of them are porn, so it's probably not that big of a loss. Still, if anyone manages to locate them on IMDb, let me know and I'll add them to this list. By default, the films are ordered by year of rating (not by year of release).
17. Sleazoid Express: A Mind Twisting Tour Through the Grindhouse Cinema of Time Square's icon

Sleazoid Express: A Mind Twisting Tour Through the Grindhouse Cinema of Time Square

Favs/dislikes: 25:0. The following list is comprised of all films featured in the book Sleazoid Express. The book focuses on the Grindhouse theaters of Times Square and the exploitation films that were shown there. I've tried to only include films that were actually screened at a theater in Times Square during the time period depicted in the book. So films mentioned in passing as a reference point (The Godfather, Taxi Driver, etc.) were omitted since the intent of the list is to capture the sights and sounds of an era and not every film found in the index.
18. Bravo’s Scariest Movies's icon

Bravo’s Scariest Movies

22. American Pulp Fiction Writers's icon

American Pulp Fiction Writers

Favs/dislikes: 5:0. It was inside the pages of "Black Mask" magazine (1920-51) that Sam Spade and Philip Marlowe were born, and this pulp fiction playground went on to greatly influence American cinema. In fact, Tarantino's film "Pulp Fiction" was originally titled "Black Mask". While many writers flourished in this genre, the list below concentrates solely on the works of Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, and James Cain. I have endeavored to include all films based on their novels or stories, all screenplays, and anything derivative of their work. For instance, Hammett wrote only one "Thin Man" novel, but I have included all six films. While this list is heavy on noir and hard-boiled private eyes, it is not exclusively either. For example, "Black Bird" is here because it's a Sam Spade parody, not because of who wrote it, and 1982's "Hammett" is here because - honestly - what other list would it qualify for?
23. Stephen King Filmography's icon

Stephen King Filmography

Favs/dislikes: 60:2. The filmography of movies based on the many works from the author Stephen King. All features films, including mini TV series and TV series. No shorts. There is another list based on Stephen King's works here on iCheckmovies. But that list is so incomplete so it was useless for a collector like me.
