Favs/dislikes: 11:0. Here's the top 5000 Favorite Films averaged in rank over the last 10 Years (2012-2021). Formula is sum of all years rank divided by the number of years it has been voted. There's a bias for films on a very few year's vote ... Compiled using lists submitted by up to 316 members of the iCM Forum. Updated for 2021. Huge thanks to everyone who's voted and hosted over the years.

iCM Forum's Top 5,000 Highest Rated Feature Films

Favs/dislikes: 1:0. . iCM Forum's highest rated feature films with 5+ votes, from IMDb vote histories provided by 47 members. Ties are sorted by highest number of votes, with additional application of the IMDb formula (WR) = (v ÷ (v+m)) × R + (m ÷ (v+m)) × C where: R = average for the movie (mean) = (Rating) v = number of votes for the movie = (votes -> max. 47) m = minimum votes required to be listed in the Top 250 (currently 5) C = the mean vote across the whole report (currently 6.6) Includes movies, TV movies and excludes documentaries. If you'd like to contribute your own ratings to this project join us over at the iCM Forum and check out this thread. For more info and links to all related 'rating' lists check out the Google sheet (can be found (under source) in the thread of the iCM forum). iCM's most favorited

Favs/dislikes: 1:0. This is the top 5000 of most favorited titles on iCM. It's basically just the same as sorting all movies on number of favorites, cut off at 5000, so not a special list. I just use it as a source to filter stuff.
10. IMDb Top 10,000 adjusted to my specifications (Part I)'s icon

IMDb Top 10,000 adjusted to my specifications (Part I)

Favs/dislikes: 2:0. . A little number game. What have I done? . On April 9, 2023 I pulled data from IMDb ( www.imdb.com/interfaces/ ). Now the data does not all fit in a csv or excel file. That's why I decided to use Power Pivot to filter out the film types (movie, short, tv-MiniSeries, tv-Movie) that are most important to me. So I had a list of over 90,000 films. (I only included films with at least 250 votes and a rating of 2.5). . Basically, my focus is on the type "movie". . Therefore, in the first step of my specification, I assigned malus points (penalty points, minus points) for "shorts", "tv-MiniSeries" and "tv-Movies" as well as for the genres "Adult" and "Documentary". In the case of the "shorts", the penalty points even increased the shorter the film is. In my opinion, I only accept a film that is longer than 5 minutes. . In the second step, I gave plus and minus points depending on data ("most favorite movies" and "most official lists") on ICM ( www.icheckmovies.com/ ). . In the third step, I then also added a weighting by year to account for the significant distortion of timeliness in online vote counts. This weight was "votes x (1+((1977 minus the release year of the movie)/100)". I copied this great idea (adapted a bit at my discretion) from the Letterboxd user Prof. Ratigan. . I chose the year 1977 because from 1977 the VHS format for video recorders became more and more established and the home video recorder market became established as a result. . In the fourth step, I used the IMDb formula* for the "weighted rating" to adjust the film rating I had already specified. . *weighted rating (WR) = (v ÷ (v+m)) × R + (m ÷ (v+m)) × C where: R = my specified average for the movie (mean) = (Rating) v = my specified number of votes for the movie = (votes) m = minimum votes required to be listed in the Top 10,000 (currently 999) C = the minimum vote across the whole report (currently 4.9) . And now the following is the result, have fun with it.

Plex: All movies currently on Dutch Plex for free (2)

Favs/dislikes: 6:0. On Plex you can stream movies for free. You'll get commercials in between, but you don't have to pay anything. This list contains all movies that are on this service in The Netherlands. IMDb urls have been collected manually one by one. I'll update this list every few months. Some movies are mislabeled on Plex with the information about another movie, most of those cases a movie with the same title. I've caught a few, but there might be more. If you play a movie and it appears to be something else, please let me know. Some movies on Plex are not on IMDb, so they are not included on this list. Some series are included, but I can't promise you can watch the complete series. I collected all movies in the categories as shown here. This is part 2 of the list. Top 5,000 Films of All Time (Calculated) conducted and proudly presented by Prof. Ratigan (Letterboxd)

Favs/dislikes: 4:0. . Prof. Ratigan: "What could be better than a list of the greatest 1,000 films of all time? A list of the top 5,000 films of all time. Its value, obviously, will be rather dependent on how you use lists. It is less likely to be a generator for recommendations as the 1,000 list (unless you adhere to the broad filters of decade, genre, etc. that Letterboxd creates). More likely, I expect, it will be seen as a very general marker for how far along the most voracious viewers are in their journey to watch everything worth watching. . I started with a list of about 30k titles gleaned from many Letterboxd lists, IMDb data, and other sources and crunched the numbers. I limited the list to those with 2,500 IMDb votes. Votes were normalized against the maximum votes on that website to account for the differing traffic, so the Highest Voted movie would be a 1.00 and the lowest 0.01. I weighted the differing website rating according to my own sense of importance with Letterboxd about 10x Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic about half of IMDb. I also included weighting by year to account for the significant recency bias in online vote tallies. That weight was Votes x (1+((2000-Year)/100). While that was sufficiently effective for the 1,000 list, as you can see by the year/decade numbers below, 5,000 let them all back in. . Since it does not seem coincidental that the best represented years are the ones that coincide with Letterboxd's years of existence, I'm trying to figure out how to account for it. My first attempt is to see who outperforms the trendline. Even using this technique on my original formula, the top years were 2018, 2019, 2017, 2015, 2014, and 2016. However, my latest adjustment for age, in coordination with the trendline method, appears to have sufficiently quieted the 2010's noise."

21. A Complete List of Academy Award Nominees - 1927-2020's icon

A Complete List of Academy Award Nominees - 1927-2020

Favs/dislikes: 43:0. iCheckMovies allows no more than 5000 movies on a list. The 94th Academy Awards nominees pushed past this limit. A second iCM list has been created to list all nominees beginning with the 94th Academy Awards and continuing until the 5000 limit is reached. If iCM modifies the limit to allow more entries, I will merge these two lists. 2021+: https://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/a+complete+list+of+academy+award+nominees+-+2021plus/fish_beauty/ This list includes every film which has received an Academy Award nomination or has been awarded an Honorary Academy Award. It also includes High Society which was nominated and had that nomination withdrawn when the Academy realized that they had chosen the wrong High Society. The list has been vetted against the iCM lists for each individual year. Totals differ because of movies appearing in more than one individual year but having single representation in this master list. In addition, the individual year list for one of the years includes The American Experience (series rather than episode) and I have included the entry for the specific episode.
