    Favs/dislikes: 15:0. This lists all the movies selected by the Critics' week on the Cannes International Film Festival. Parallel section of the Cannes Film Festival, La Semaine de la Critique has steadfastly remained true to its tradition of discovering new talents. Ever since it was conceived by the French Union of Film Critics in 1962, the objective of la Semaine de la Critique has been to showcase first and second feature films by directors from all over the world. Bernardo Bertolucci, Jean Eustache, Otar Iosseliani, Ken Loach, Wong Kar-wai, Jacques Audiard, Arnaud Desplechin, Alejandro González Iñárritu, Bertrand Bonello or even Jeff Nichols all started at la Semaine. A reflection of a mix of demand and curiosity, which distinguished film critic, la Semaine de la Critique intends to explore and reveal the new creation. Being a discoverer of new talents helped la Semaine bringing to light films like Respiro by Emanuele Crialese, Since Otar Left by Julie Bertuccelli, Or by Keren Yedaya, Me and You and Everyone We Know by Miranda July, Meduzot (Jellyfish) by Etgar Keret & Shira Geffen, The Orphanage by Juan Antonio Bayona or The Lunchbox by Ritesh Batra. After 1988, the selection includes short films. These shorts are not currently included in this list. Entered : 1969-2007 Working on : 2008 (not yet entered) The short films are not included in this list Note : - Mai 68, la belle ouvrage is dated 2008, but the images were actually screened in 1969, at the Quinzaine. - Soliloguy (Stephen Dwoskin) imdb lists the film as a short (8 mn long), but the Quinzaine lists it as a feature film - Film Portrait (Jerome Hill) is dated in 1973 by imdb, but was actually shown in the 1970 festival... - Zwartziek (Jacob Bijl) is dated 1975 by imdb, but was actually shown in the 1973 festival... - Llocsi Caimanta, fuera de aquí is dated 1981 by imdb, but it was shown in the 1977 festival... Missing : Les bombardiers: Troupe d'élite, fleur de Marie, by Oimel Mai (1970) - Very little information : the movie is supposedly german, and Oimel Mai is a disciple of Alexander Kluge.
