    Favs/dislikes: 0:0. Letterboxd's Top 250 movies, based on the average weighted rating of all Letterboxd users. I removed all stand-up specials, concert films, documentaries, shorts, 'collection listings' and other 'rarities', so only feature length narrative movies are listed here. To avoid any discussions about documentary or not, Letterboxd genre classifications are used to remove them. My friend Jack Moulton made a list of Letterboxd Top 100 documentaries though, go check it out! A few statistics... The oldest movie on the list is Charlie Chaplin's The Kid, released in 1921. The most popular decades in the list are the 1950's and 1960's, both with 39 entries. A complete overview: 1920's - 7 entries 1930's - 5 entries 1940's - 17 entries 1950's - 39 entries 1960's - 39 entries 1970's - 31 entries 1980's - 27 entries 1990's - 33 entries 2000's - 25 entries 2010's - 27 entries Akira Kurosawa and Ingmar Bergman seem to be Letterboxd's most popular directors, both having 8 entries in the list, of which 4 in top 100. All popular directors: 8 entries - Ingmar Bergman, Akira Kurosawa 6 entries - Andrei Tarkovsky, Billy Wilder, Stanley Kubrick 4 entries - Martin Scorsese, Alfred Hitchcock, Francis Ford Coppola, Masaki Kobayashi, Charlie Chaplin, Satyajit Ray, Steven Spielberg, Yasujiro Ozu Fun fact: Highest ranked movies in IMDb's top 250 that are absent in the Letterboxd list: Forrest Gump (12), The Matrix (19), The Usual Suspects (29), The Green Mile (31) and Interstellar (32).
