Rotten Tomatoes' 200 Best LGBT Movies of All Time

Favs/dislikes: 7:0. "To be considered for the list, a movie had to prominently feature gay, lesbian, trans, or queer characters; concern itself centrally with LGBT themes; present its LGBT characters in a fair and realistic light; and/or be seen as a touchpoint in the evolution of queer cinema. And it had to be Fresh. The final list was culled from a longlist of hundreds, after which the films were ranked according to the Adjusted Tomatometer, which acts as a kind of inflation adjustment, taking into consideration the Tomatometer score, as well as the number of reviews a film received relative to the average number of reviews for films released that same year."

    Academy Award Acting Winners

Favs/dislikes: 9:0. Since the very first Oscar ceremony in 1929, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has honored the year’s most outstanding performance by an actor in a leading role and most outstanding performance by an actress in a leading role. Beginning in 1936 the Academy has honored the year’s most outstanding performance by an actor in a supporting role and most outstanding performance by an actress in a supporting role. This list includes all the movies that won at least one of its actors or actresses an Academy Award for their performance in that film. Note that in the first year of the Oscars, 1927-1928, actors and actresses were able to be nominated and win for more than one film. Emil Jannings won the Best Actor award for both "The Last Command" and "The Way of All Flesh"; the latter film is considered lost so it is not included on this list. Janet Gaynor won for her performances in three films: "7th Heaven", "Street Angel" and "Sunrise". Also, there have been two occurrences of more than one winner in the same acting category. In 1931-32, there was a technical tie in the Best Actor category resulting in wins for both Wallace Berry in "The Champ" and Fredric March in "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde". In 1968 there was a tie in the Best Actress category, with both Katharine Hepburn in "The Lion in Winter" and Barbra Streisand in "Funny Girl" named winners.
