This definitely needs to be on Page One of the Official List. Start lobbying !!! Peary's Guide is far more useful than that 1001 Movies book - bought my copy in 1987 and I've seen every title in the front of the book and all but one title in the 3000-film checklist at the back of the book (and I'm in the process of getting my hands on that last one!)
Belated reply to the earlier enquiry, but yes, not only have I seen Dark End of the Street but I was the one who uploaded it to CG and KG, along with many other rare/unavailable Peary titles. I spent so long scouring for those films (over 20 years) that I was duty-bound to share them.
Didn't this used be called Guide for the Film Fanatic, or Guide for the Film Fanatic (Core)? I created a list combining this list and the addendum and have called it Guide for the Film Fanatic (Complete). It's Incredibly confusing if you have changed it.
This list is fantastic. And there's some films on here like From Russia with Love, Lifeboat and The Wanderers that I feel deserve more attention than afforded them in other lists.
i sincerely appreciate your approbation. and as a fellow film fanatic i tip my hat to you. i've a long row to hoe before i've even made a dent in peary's checklist. i have to ask, did you see "the dark end of the street" and if so, how did you get ahold of it?
Like many others, I too got hold of a used copy of the Guide, found FilmFanatic.org online, and now am delighted that "the list" made it onto iCheckmovies.com - which amongst other things is the best "list of lists" and cloud-memory for any film lover. Danny Peary's original reviews stand out from the ruck for freshness and honesty.
thanks for the suggestion on the tags, i hope the ones i added are sufficient, i'm pretty new at this. and thank you also for volunteering to contribute the additional must see films list!
First of all, thanks for adding this list (I've already attached it to my watchlist). It would be really great if you added some tags to it, such as "danny" or "peary" etc. so it is easy to find through filters. I've actually started to make the same list, but thankfully "frbrown" has directed me to yours.
If no one else plans to make the Addendum list, I'll do it - I intended to do so anyway.
if i was allowed to make more than one list due to the limits of my free account, scott, i would be several days into attempting this by now, of that you can be sure.

Is anyone bold enough to tackle creating a list of the titles from the back of the book?Showing items 1 – 15 of 22
