People are removing these genres from movies in imdb. That's why the top movies are removed from these lists. I suspect the people who make the changes are some obsessed users here in icheckmovies.

Why did "12 Angry Men" suddenly disappear from the list? It held the first position, what happened? I understand when movies from the end of the lists disappear, but at the top?

Both Citizen Kane and 2001 are rightfully here. To uncover a mystery is a prime aspect of both films' plot.

Having a mystery in a film does not make it a mystery film. Much like having action in a film does not make an action film. Or music a musical.
