People are removing these genres from movies in imdb. That's why the top movies are removed from these lists. I suspect the people who make the changes are some obsessed users here in icheckmovies.

A lot of films suddenly seem to keep disappearing from this list. First 12 Angry Men, then Fight Club and now Se7en and The Departed! Why is this happening?

Se7en disappeared? Seriously? That's ridiculous.

@anelith, I think it's because it's no longer classified as a Mystery on IMDB.

Why did "12 Angry Men" suddenly disappear from the list? It held the first position, what happened? I understand when movies from the end of the lists disappear, but at the top?

Both Citizen Kane and 2001 are rightfully here. To uncover a mystery is a prime aspect of both films' plot.

> 2001 is the ultimate mystery.

> And "Rosebud" is a mystery until the end of the movie, in fact, it stays a mystery even after that.

Having a mystery in a film does not make it a mystery film. Much like having action in a film does not make an action film. Or music a musical.
