From 2013 onwards, every two years users of the Dutch/Belgian website MovieMeter.nl send in a ranked list of their 250-500 favorite movies. There were 70 contributors this year and their lists led to this top 1000. All credits go to 2013's initiator The One Ring, 2015's organizer beavis and Film Pegasus who has taken on the ordeal from 2017 onwards.
The presentation started June 7th 2021, with many titles being revealed each day until the list was finally complete, June 20th 2021.
