I think this list should be official too. I've been keeping track of it since it first came out and while it runs a tad more mainstream than my personal taste, I think that gives it a very accessible, casual feel not already represented by other top 1000. It doesn't take things too far. Difficult, lesser-known films are still present, but many of the surprises are just as likely to be populist entertainments and both make for great debate.
I kinda like this top 1000. It certainly isn't the best Top 1000 out there, but it is a lot more accessible.
The fact that it's British makes it a nice companion to the other top 1000's on this site, which are by American critics (or TSPDT's consensus list) and it therefore offers some atypical inclusions.
Collecting the URLs it struck me that the list has a curious love for Rock 'n' Roll movies (like The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle, Dig!, The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years, Rock 'n' Roll High School). It also includes some unexpected and dubious choices, like Ace Venture, Austin Powers, Mean Girls)
All in all it's a nice list, which is more main stream oriented than the other top 1000's, but certainly not without hidden gems.
Don't like this list. For something that claims to represent "the dazzling achievement and variety of the movies" since their inception, it's heavily, heavily skewed towards contemporary movies — about 80% of the list is post-1960.

Updated the list with other 2 movies from the Lord of the Rings and Trois Couleurs trilogies. Furthermore the Cremaster cycle is now seperate entries.worstmovies

Funny, The Guardian put together a pretty solid list, but then they went ahead and propagated the silly myth that the train caused a panic.tomsalad
Me too!Kasparius
I think it should be official.
