movie is great, up until the final act.

Not sure why everyone seems to hate the ending.
What I can say is that the movie feels way too often like a good short stretched over a feature length.
The biggest consequence of that, and it's unfortunate, is that the tension the movie works so hard to create just keeps waxing and waning and flagging throughout.
It's a shame because most of the acting is superb and the direction is really good at creating tension. However the writing is unable to sustain it.
It's definitely a movie with a heart but it could have been a masterpiece in the hands of a more competent writer. 3 years 9 months ago
