the most gory movie of that time, with the possible exception of dead alive. the card scene is my favourite. the first time i saw this movie, i was nine, and my older cousin decided scare the bejesus out of me by making me watch it. i thought it was nothing special until the card part (i couldent understand the idea of tree rape). 13 years 6 months ago
The Doctor
The low budget and cabin setting provide for some great atmosphere. Very scary picture, yet there are some visual trademarks of what Raimi would be doing throughout his career. Some bits of very dark humor appear throughout, and Evil Dead is most promising for Raimi's first outing as a director. 13 years 9 months ago
