This actually wasn't a bad little RomCom. Of course the main goal of the film was to show off Sydney's body, in which they succeeded admirably (
for those watching just in hopes of seeing her naked, well, there's a sex scene in which you see her side boob and about 1/8 of her nipple for about a second and a half; otherwise, though, she's in a bikini or a cleavage-revealing dress the whole film
). But otherwise pretty standard Hollywood RomCom material.
Also, if you for some reason have an aversion to Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield, you may want to skip this one because it's basically a character in the film lol...
An OK Hallmark movie - oh, wait, it's not that, it's a regular movie 8P An eye candy as it is, it's immediately forgettable, toothless and sterile.
Sydney Sweeney is still delightful, of course, but the guy... Please, for the love of God, someone tell Mr Powell he can't act. His every mpve, his every line sounds like he needs to receive a confirmation from a marketing department. Not approved.
Much Ado About Nothing with a dollop of Titanic, a big helping of every "I need a fake date to the wedding" film you've ever seen and liberally sprinkled with Natasha Bedingfield's Unwritten.
It's not brilliant, but it's perfectly charming.
Shakespeare would have loved to know that Beatrice and Benedick are still arguing in 2024.
Good film. Great premise/story build at the start.
Wavering acting. Watched it for Sydney (where they have her cleavage in practically every scene) but the acting and accent were annoying. Comedy points though.
Glen does well.
The older casts were decent
The beats worked at the right moments.
Wife loved it, kept on mentioning it
6/10
...final third is great though!
Talented writer director. Although Easy A, Peter Rabbit I haven't rated high. Haven't seen Friends with v Benefits.

Fast review: fun, romantic, spark between the main characters, complicated relationships, done with good taste.JG94
not a masterpiece, not bad either. fun for it's millennial nostalgia.
