I absolutely love the soundtrack to this film and I also love the casting (Chloë Grace Moretz is great). I think it's a charming film and the way the story shifts between the 500 days is really clever. Although I was a bit disappointed by the ending. Autumn. Really?!

But cute nevertheless.

An anti-romcom, it tells the story of Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Summer (Zooey Deschanel) from Cupid's arrow (Day 1) to getting over her (Day 500), from his point of view, a point of view that may include distortions, reevaluations, even a musical number. What do we choose to remember, and how? The film gets even more clever by going back and forth through the days, so we can contrast the good times with the bad. It's funny, but the humor comes from the structure, flights of fancy, or from characters being in-character funny. The moments play out as real, or at least the feelings behind them do. A real charmer, even if I never fell for Summer myself (in that sense, it's a true anti-romcom). Maybe it's because she shares traits with a number of girls I went out with myself. I'm past day 500 already.

Great movie! I expected a mediocre romance, but this turned out to be something entirely different.

I loved the way the story flashed backwards and forwards and most of all I loved the irony, the humor and the way the movie makes fun of life, love and relationships as well as cliche movies or images.

Zooey Deschanel's character was really sweet, so free and unconventional... and Joseph Gordon-Levitt did a great job as well, the way he was confused and fascinated by Summer... had a great time watching it!

I just watched 2 hours of a guy trying to get over some girl. Hmmm. I expected more of this since I heard many great things about it. My final thought was "is that it?". I wasn't too charmed by this movie. I also wish Zooey Deschanel would explore other kind of roles. Once again, she's the weird, mysterious, awkward yet charming love interest. We've seen her do that too many times.

movie was very charming, sweet and a very good watch if you're looking for something light. great directing, great performances and some very good moments. chloe grace moretz is amazing as usual and if she doesn't join the line of completely broken and drug-addled child stars, there's great success in her future.

PS, i like zooey deschanel's performance in this but her doing her cutesy thing anywhere else makes me close to puking all my meals out. despise her in every other work of hers except for this

I love this movie, since the first minutes, so cute, with touching characters (we feel like Tom's best friend) amazing soundtrack, really cool and realistic love story. It's a great film because we can relate to it, especially the expectations part, I'm sure. Maybe with cheesy dialogs, 'cause love is cheesy haha, and I love Joseph and Zooey so much together. LOVE it! Favorite!

Soundtrack is fantastic. Cast is great. Script is far too cheesy and cliche. The ending ruined the film for me. I will never watch this again.

I think people describing this as a "romantic comedy" haven't seen the movie or have a very loose definition of "romantic comedy".
