This is the most awkward and bizarre major Hollywood film of its day. You can see what they were getting at, but the actors didn't know how to do it. The only time de Havilland was terrible, and you'll want to kill Mickey Rooney, even if he was only seven or something.
If you can get around Mickey Rooney's callow, giggling performance as Puck, it's pretty good. But I couldn't get around it.
