Gritty, character-driven war movie. Having worked with the Army, I can believe the politics, incompetency and "positions for favors" this movie highlights.
Lee Marvin sure loves his bourbon! Not a huge fan of the military strategies on display here, to be honest, but the script is well written and the politics is believable and truly engaging.

A great character-driven drama that deserves to be ranked among the best war movies.
