   A 44 years old movie that shows us that the only thing that changes is technology, everything else stays the same! Back in 72 the USA economy was in the dog house, there were going to be a war in the Middle East, already no one liked Americans, they where spoiled etc, and there's nothing on the telly! 7 years 7 months ago

   While it certainly is too long for the story they wanted to tell (the pace feels almost somnambulant in the first act), there are so many charming, lovely moments that make the whole experience worthwhile, particularly in the last half-hour. The tonal shifts between comedy and bittersweet romance are not as smooth as in The Apartment, but that doesn’t rob any of these little moments from their beauty. Possibly the closest Wilder ever really got to Lubitsch. 4 years 9 months ago
