The screenplay and dialogue were great as were the two leads. What a joy to watch the sparring match between the two biggest losers in the Oscars history. Burton can entice you with almost every word he utters. His diction, pacing and charisma is among the all time greats. And O'Toole can switch gears so effortlessly. At one moment he will lure you in with a dramatic monologue or self reflection just to make you laugh hysterically mere seconds later. Loved almost everything about this film.
No where near as good as I'd hoped or expected; it's curiously undramatic and hindered by its length. Looks lovely of course, and the leads as charismatic as usual... just a bit of a dull film.
