The way I see it, all Haneke early works seem quite 'boring' at first, but you just have to be a little bit patient because either this one or other Haneke films get rather interesting all of a sudden. Precisely for that reason it goes from 'nothing happens at all' to all the opposite. Maybe it hasn't got much action, but still great. I see Haneke's films as psychological studies of people's behaviour in modern societies, not as films in which there is a lot of action going on. Therefore, if people get bored watching this film they should just watch something different instead, but still unfair and illogical of people classifying these kind of films, being The Seventh Continent or Caché or even Funny Games as 'boring'. What is more, since most Haneke's are quite disturbing and deal with real modern life issues I think it wouldn't be that bad whether people took these movies more seriously instead of watching them only as entertainment. Some movies just are not made for people to enjoy them.
This is just my point of view once more.

Wonder if you were both still bored five minutes later? Doubt it.

Michael Haneke's dark satirical drama commenting on violence in the media, via a desensitised Austrian schoolboy. Interesting, but perhaps more as a film to study rather than watch. Similar themes to the director's later 'Funny Games'. 6/10.

I'm 20 min in and already really bored watching them eat pizza. So your comment is hilarious.
