The bollywood shoot sequences were kinda funny. I am pretty sure that Benegal was mocking the melodramatic Indian cinema there.

Definitely not Benegal's best, but its a pretty mature take on a Bollywood Actress' life in the early years of Indian Film Industry.
Smita Patil does a decent job, but Amol Palekar and Naseeruddin Shah steal the show. 7/10
