Beautifully shot. Like It Rains in My Village it's another story (but much better executed) about the unpleasant life in a small town, love or rather lack of love, death and indifference, with a lot of laughter from the character but a depressing feeling for the viewer. Recommended!
Many of those impressive outdoor shot feature an artificially darkened sky which looks amateurish but also gave me a bit of a surrealistic feeling. 8 years 1 month ago -
Bolero Tenebris
Badly paced, mostly disjointed and somewhat repetitive. It just ''circles around'', never quite ''takes off''.
That village traditional women's specific cry for dead person is upsetting hence effective for drama, but when you repeat that about 10 times throughout the film - it just becomes annoying.
I am a fan of Bata Živojinović and i think he can effectively play various types of roles, always with strong screen presence, but i feel he is miscast in this film.
It was perhaps something special in its time, but has not aged well. 3 years 5 months ago
