Clunky, lower-tier MGM musical has George Murphy on auto-pilot but with some good, if all-too-brief, moments for supporting roles by Lena Horne, Tommy Dorsey, Eddie Anderson, and Nancy Walker, who has the standout classic musical number, "Milkman, Keep Those Bottles Quiet." Hazel Scott drops in with an amazing piano piece and I have a soft spot for the gonzo weirdness of the Ross Sisters' "Potato Salad" bit, but otherwise most of the runtime is a Technicolor slog. 5 years 3 months ago
