The problem I've had with Cars is it was Pixar's weakest film, it's not their best but it's enjoyable, but this sequel just ruins anything someone could enjoy about the series. The first all being about following McQueen on a somewhat relatable journey sounds fun, but this whole second one is nothing but, "FOR THE KIDS!" with action and agents and even throwing the word 'kill' around like no tomorrow.
In short the only reason this film exists is to push the franchise for more merchandising to the point where it's disgusting.
I had massively lowered expectations for this after all the bad reviews, which may be why I thought it was OK. Far too much Mater, but aside from him the espionage stuff was pretty fun.
Mercifully shorter and faster-paced than the first film, I think I probably enjoyed this more.
Good animations as always by Pixar but terrible movie overall. Horrible choice for the protagonist, boring story, it's like they only chose to make a sequel to Cars for the products they can sell. Such a shame.
Great looking and sounding sequel but overlong and for a kids movie a lot of kills and deaths. Shifting the lead role to a minor one....and a annoying one doesn't help
This movie isn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be. It's still better than half of the crap Dreamworks puts out. I know this isn't as good as Wall-E, or Up. But the first Cars is the reason they were able to make those movies. The first Cars had a budget of 120 million. But it made over 10 billion dollars in merchandise alone. Because of this Wall-E was able to have a 180 million dollar budget, and Up was given 175 million. If Pixar makes one bad movie every like 6 or 7 years to get enough money to fund better ones. Then who cares?
I'd still call Cars 1.0 the weakest Pixar movie. Sure this is far from their best work too but it was a whole lot of fun and Mater was a much more interesting lead than McQueen. Formulistic and stereotypical, but that's mostly part of the charm. Probably won't surprise you in any way, but chances are you'll be entertained.

After everything I'd heard I was expecting this to be pretty bad but I actually enjoyed it more than the first one, which I guess isn't saying much.ElijahCSkuggs

Great visuals are pretty much a given with Pixar films, it's the other stuff that was seriously lacking.hakonlo
Awful movie. Also, possibly the worst music in an animated movie, ever.attie pattie
