More like "Cave of boring ass shit". A often pretentious and always dull movie, directed and narrated by crazy old coot Werner Herzog.billiesomeday
would never have chosen to watch a movie like this, wasn't very excited about it afterwards. some facts have never been explained during the "storytelling", weird to show a film like this in the movie theatre - seems more like a TV documentation.Ibetolis
Some people just miss the point don't they? This is a film about the awakening of the human soul, the dawn of curiosity and imagination and artistic expression. A superb film with the beautiful Herzogian flights of fancy that somehow knit his wild tangents together.Timec
One of the best and most beautiful theatrical experiences I've had in a long time. It's always fun to be profoundly moved by a film, and then come here to see it called "boring ass shit."

Beautiful images makes it interesting for about half an hour. Cave of Forgotten Dreams would have been a compelling and informative documentary if it lasted 45 minutes tops. In the end, I actually find myself agreeing with the "cave of boring ass shit" comment.Skyscore

Calling this beautiful piece of art "boring as shit" is just sad and mindless.ubersum1
"Stay here." I love Herzog.jacktrewin
Herzog went off the rails with this. The subject matter itself was the only good part and even that was handled poorly i thought. The people he interviewed were mostly dull or mental and the conclusion with the crocodiles was plain ridiculous and deceptive. Would have liked to see in 3-D but won't be watching again.nicolaskrizan

Herzog being his usual self, with absolutely stunning subject matter (aside from when he gets distracted and goes off to find weird people and irradiated crocodiles instead). Really, it's a beautiful film - if you're not stereo-blind and you see this in 2D, you've only seen half the film (although the awful flickering makes a great case for Jackson and Cameron's HFR).-1flb2-
I enjoyed the movie. Art transcends the spoken word. Really showing the dawn of mankind 30,000 years ago. We may have been more enlightened than we previously thought. The French are doing a great job protecting this gem.Wargasm
I get it. It's #deep and #profound. But it also could have been done in a 10 minute youtube video. And let's face it. The metaphors were forced as hell.
