Not a good trip driven by Tim Burton. It tries to be dark, but as originally is a kids movie, he misses the line of the story.. Could be much better

I don't know, I still think Gene Wilder was a better Willy Wonka. He was way more subtle than Johnny Depp's Wonka, which makes him more interesting.

Johnny Depp wasn't a bad Wonka, but this film just stumbles in so many different places that it weighs the whole thing down. Particularly once they get inside the chocolate factory, things just go downhill from there.

Watch the original, you are not missing anything if you skip this one.

What people don't understand is that Willy Wonka is supposed to be unhinged & weirdly-tense !!! The Willy in the old movie is too DISNEY. Tim & Johnny Depp owned this movie.
