The setting and general premise had potential, which is why I was disappointed that it turned out to be garbage.

Better than I expected. I came into this thinking it was going to be a pretty average horror film with a great setting (I love urban exploration so Chernobyl is a very interesting place for me). I figured that would be enough to keep me engaged, as it would probably have nice cinematography, if little else.

The film introduced a fairly large cast of characters quickly and rounded some of them out a little. There was a great surprise in a fairly early scene, just before things get scary, and it maintained a good pace throughout.

The ending was a little disappointing and sudden and the bulk of the action took place in one go, so a lot of the tension of the first 2/3rds of the film was lost. Even in the more exuberant scene the film feels understated, willing to keep the scary stuff hidden in half-light and let your imagination do the work.

In conclusion: Not massively scary but fairly tense with a solid atmosphere and great setting. Definitely worth checking out. Much better than your average horror.

Bad Movie - Great idea, but poorly executed mostly due to the script

Recommending it
Felt well made. It had tention and I like the fact that you spoiler Sure, it didnt scare the crap out of me and it was sort of predictable. But it didnt bother me and I reckon it's a scary movie that you actually can enjoy and no need to cover your face all the time.

So, a good watchable scary movie with no silly scream/run scenes and no ridiculous creatures that makes you laugh. That is hard to achieve in this genre, especially now when it's hard to please people.

Wow, really good Movie. High tension, intense and subtle Horror in the beginning. Authentic location, of course, some scares were predictable and also some parts of the story, but you can't expect something completely new and neverseen from a Horrormovie. All in all, in would recommend it.

I really want to like this movie, and I do, but not for all the right reasons.

First of all, I want to say that I extremely LOVE the tension build up. The location is just perfect for a horror movie and I'm glad the got to film there. But, then again... the scares were predictable, but scarce enough to just keep you on the edge of your seat.

Secondly, I adore the concept and location, but I feel that they could have done so much more and better. About half way in, it derailed from it's slow, tension filled, mystery pace to a fast, 'lets get this movie over with and show as much as we can, but trying not to show too much' feeling. The effects have been done before, but still work (kind off), nothing refreshing. Acting was way above my level of expectation.

Overall, it's a good enough movie to spend a night watching it, and I'm glad I got to see it, because of it's location. :)

Very disappointing film. Since the writer was the creator of Paranormal Activity, I had very high hopes, but it was almost brain-numbingly stupid and relatively free from effective scares.

From a thriller perspective: Takes a long time to get going. Once it does, it makes for a decent ride as long as you don't ask questions. Holes abound in the plot and storyline leaving me going "huh?" There are alot of things left unexplained which if explained would make the ending seem much more 'full-circle'.

Good setting that captures a creepy atmosphere of abandoned desolation. In all other respects this is a cliched and turgid below-par horror, full of plot holes, failed attempts at jump scares, disposable characters, and long scenes of running through dark rooms while the camera shakes all over the place.

The setting had potential but ultimately, it came to nothing.
