   CotC is an odd series, this entry and 6 & 7 are all spectacular failures, but all for very different reasons. This 2009 remake is much more technically adequate than the worst of the bunch, but the characters are so much more unlikeable and the children so unbelievably not scary. The Vietnam flashbacks in the middle of a cornfield, my god...
   
   And in typical 2009 fashion, there is a terrible, meaningless post-credits scene. 4 days 7 hours ago

   Couldn't get through more than half an hour of it. The protagonists were annoying as hell - and I normally have a pretty strong tolerance for annoying horror film protagonists. 7 years 6 months ago

   Well … to put it bluntly … it’s bad.
   The story itself is eerie and creepy, very much keeping with King’s writing style, but the movie itself is badly executed. The leading lady, Vicky, is annoying. The guy, Burt, is okay. But the constant bickering between them gets annoying. Yes, we get it. They’re in a bad marriage. But they spend so much time arguing that you’re constantly wondering if it’s worth watching through.
   
   And after a grueling long chase in the corn … then there’s the ending … which is suddenly hastened. It’s not clear how it ended, how it got to the end and what on earth happened to the 2 leading people. If you take the time to explore major aspects of the story, then atleast do so until the end. But don’t drag out arguments, make overly long chases in the corn field and then mess up the ending. It feels like they ran out of time and just forced the end.
   
   Too many holes for my liking.
   
   I’m going to try to read the book and then watch the original movie. I think that one will be scarier.
