I have always had immense affection for City Slickers, but it was doubly interesting to watch it now, while I have the characters' age and am at that point in my life when I should be having a midlife crisis. This is a film that gets better with age, and its mix of comedy, dramatic heart and western tropes is sheer genius.

one cliché follows the next, the story is predictable from the very beginning, billy crystal's humor and self-pitying gets annoying quickly and the overly melodramatic music makes me hate the movie even more. btw why exactly has jack palance received the oscar for this?2/10 stars
