Holly Shit. This was really ... boring.

I felt it was practically flawless throughout and thoroughly effected the humour, acting, plot, pace and effects. Great film 8/10

Super enjoyable horror comedy. Great performances all around, much need an enjoyable and funny film during the current dark times.

Entertaining, much along the lines of Sharknado. Take it with a grain of salt, though; it's more akin to "inspired by true events" rather than "based on a true story" (in reality, the bear died almost instantly). More of a what-if scenario. The 50-minute documentary on Peacock sheds more light on the real story. A barrel of laughs and definitely an entertaining hour and a half film, though.

Im turned off by the over the top gory violence (similar to Violent Night) but thats a personal taste and i know how other people really enjoy over the top movie gore.

Aside from that i really enjoyed the film. It was funny, had likable characters, the right amount of cheese, and none of the characters overstayed their welcome (mostly thanks to a bear). The film delivers exactly what it promises in a fun 95 minutes.

In the mid-80s, a drug smuggler fell to his death from a plane, littering the wilds of Kentucky with bags full of cocaine, most of which were never recovered. A bear wound up eating a whole bag and died. But what if it hadn't? Cocaine Bear is the resulting gory lampoon of animal attack movies based on this premise. Director Elizabeth Banks knows how to get a laugh out of the violence, but the movie's best asset is its cast of lively characters - the kids who do a little cocaine too, the park ranger with the hots for her park inspector, the idiot punks who attack people in the park, the crooks with daddy issues, the detective who just got a new dog not of his liking - it makes for funny dialog and amusing situations. When you've seen everything a genre has to give, it's time to go absurd of go home. Cocaine Bear is a fairly stupid movie, but it does that with some success. I could well imagine a worse version of this. I could also imagine one where doing coke isn't presented as a positive thing.

Interesting premise. A bummer that it's paired with a bad screenwriter and an equally bad director. They're going for laughs that don't come. I have faith in both, but this is a big whiff to me.
