A really strange combination for a couple, but somehow touching in a non-melancholic way. Marion Cotillard at her best. Her face said everything about the character: deep in pain even when she was smiling, but really really tough. 10 years 4 months ago
i liked the first part a lot. the last 20 minutes were pretty disappointed.
it completely changed the story from the relationship to the melodrama with the kid falling in the ice, which was annoying and uninteresting. plus, has there ever been a scene in movie history set on ice where someone doesnt fall through? It wasn't even suspenseful because it was so telegraphed.10 years 8 months ago
The story certainly took me in unpredictable directions, but the most interesting one, and the largest selling point of the film is left behind by the second act.
Still, its very good and has one of the most powerful scenes I've seen all year. 10 years 8 months ago
