As a historian, I didn't find it boring at all. It's an excellent example of microhistory. The History of Utah, a state founded by a peculiar religious group, told on the perspective of a single newspaper tells a lot about what are the United States as a whole. There are many ways to interpret it. The movie brings the historian to ponder on the nature of the LDS church and its dark history, the US government's stances on this state during the cold war, and of course, the ideological tendencies of New York Times. Interesting work.
