Expunge all thoughts you may have about this being anything but exceedingly remotely connected to the eponymous videogame franchise.
There are some weak nods to Doom and id Software, but since the current IP holders Bethesda would have nothing to do with this project, it's just general videogame references that could fit into any sci-fi movie. There's not a single mention or credit given to either game companies.
Looking beyond the videogame non-connection, what's left is a low-end sci-fi horror thriller with the usual drivel.
Ridiculous plot, two dimensional characters, illogical script, clunky dialogue, arbitrary exposition dumps and tropes galore.
It's not completely terrible, I'll give it that. It's a long way from good or even decent. Some ok action and the visuals aren't shabby, and the lead actress isn't too bad... but it probably isn't worth your time.
Better than Breach with Bruce Willis!
It looks and feels much like a fan film, except where everyone involved was afraid to reference anything Doom for fear of getting sued. Just go watch the first film with The Rock.
to see which of your friends have seen this movie!
