William fichtner is a boss!
the rest of the movie: acting was bad, script was cheesy, Special effects looked very fake, action scenes were unrealistic.
I can understand most of the criticisms of this film (even though I enjoyed it in a watch-once trashy way), but saying the "action scenes were unrealistic" makes you look dumb by spectacularly missing the point.
I don't really understand the bad reviews and all the hatin'.... Off course, this movie doesn't have a brilliant plot, sublime cinematographic whatevers or history changing subject matter, but it was overall enjoyable, had some fun characters and enough explosions, gun shooting, car chases (and nude people :P) to make for an excellent beer and popcorn movie. 8/10!
Drive Angry has Nicolas Cage escape hell itself to save his baby granddaughter from a Satanic cult, killing hicksploitation goons even as he is pursued by a demonic force (a delightful villainous performance from William Fichtner). This kind of thing seems to happen to Nick Cage a LOT (also, who does his hair in these movies?!). Starts as a kind of deranged Grand Theft Auto movie, then heads into gonzo supernatural territory, with Amber Heard riding shotgun. It's really the first time I take real note of her presence in a movie (and I'm counting Aquaman). The irreverent tone and crazy action sequences put me in mind of the Ash vs. Evil Dead television show, though ironically, the car stuff is, on the whole, the weakest part of the movie. That, and the bad 3D effects that keep getting thrown at the screen. Good, filthy entertainment with some original ideas about the afterlife, that makes good on its promises. A bit dark, but if you like your Nick Cage movies on the bonkers side, Drive Angry should be on your radar.
You know those action movies that are just so shitty yet you want to know how it ends? This one is the mother of them all! It's just terrible yet I needed to know how it would end. The only redeeming point of this movie is the character "The Accountant", played by William Fichtner. Story-wise it's messy and even though the plot would've been good if it was somehow filmed better, it was just all over the place.
And Mr Cage is well Nicholas Cage ... recycling the same character in another movie.
The movie does not change my opinion about Nicolas Cage at all. I still don't like him.
There wasn't at least one thing I liked about this film, not worth watching for me.

Predictably bad, but fun in a trashy kinda way.contrafugal
In 2011's DRIVE ANGRY, Nic Cage plays an irate ghost who has the following superpowers:1. Shotgun.
He wants revenge on some cultists, and by revenge I mean he wants to kill a shitload of them using his superpowers. William Fichtner also stars.
Pretty much a perfect shitty film. FOAR STARZ.

The worst action movie not named Gymkata that I have ever seen. And possibly less fun than even Gymkata.Isklar
Superb acting by Fichtner! I'd see the movie again just for the scenes he's in. As for the rest... haven't we seen Cage in ten of these already?danisanna
